New Coffee Shop in Old San Juan: Hacienda Isabel

Flavors of San Juan Food & Culture Tours was privileged to be given a special tour of the charming Hacienda Isabel coffee shop in Old San Juan yesterday!  The coffee shop is located in the north section of the old quarter, on Calle Sol. Their single-origin arabica coffee is grown in the mountains of Utuado, Puerto Rico and the quaint, boutique shop feels as if you’re stopping by the owner’s plantation home for a neighborly cup of coffee. The artisanal shop also serves up breakfast and brunch, sells handmade soaps and lotions, as well as their own coffee beans, either whole or ground!

While all the food is still fresh in my belly let me take the time to give a shout out to my boy Hector for being such an amazing guide!! He was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had wonderful conversations about history, culture, places to go and of course food! This is well worth the price and you will be full afterwards. Our group was so fun and the weather was perfect! I’d recommend this tour for everyone (because of course we all need to eat) because now you know where to go back to eat and you’ve walked by various restaurants and can get your tour guide’s opinions about them. Oh and make sure to wear comfortable shoes!

Marjorie was the BEST! Our group of 8, including 4 kids, thoroughly enjoyed our food tour of Old San Juan with Marjorie. She was friendly, upbeat, and shared tons of interesting information.
