Flavors of San Juan featured on list of Historic Sites by Marriott International

MY DESTINATION PR HISTORIC SITES

 

This past month of October 2013, leading hotel group Marriott International compiled a list of not-to-be-missed historic sites for the always informative travel blog My Destination PR. The list includes unforgettable monuments and experiences in Puerto Rico’s most historic, Old San Juan. Flavors of San Juan Food & Culture was honored to be listed as the first walking tour on the list.

Many travelers love to explore rich history and try local cuisine but often have difficulty finding authentic places that are not tourist traps. Flavors of San Juan offers the perfect solution to this problem with small, personally guided lunch and dinner tours. Tour options include the Signature Dinner tour, Foodie Lunch tour, each of which show visitors a unique culinary side of San Juan combined with tidbits about local history and architecture.

While all the food is still fresh in my belly let me take the time to give a shout out to my boy Hector for being such an amazing guide!! He was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had wonderful conversations about history, culture, places to go and of course food! This is well worth the price and you will be full afterwards. Our group was so fun and the weather was perfect! I’d recommend this tour for everyone (because of course we all need to eat) because now you know where to go back to eat and you’ve walked by various restaurants and can get your tour guide’s opinions about them. Oh and make sure to wear comfortable shoes!

Marjorie was the BEST! Our group of 8, including 4 kids, thoroughly enjoyed our food tour of Old San Juan with Marjorie. She was friendly, upbeat, and shared tons of interesting information. We loved learning from her and tasting so many San Juan delights. Highly recommend Marjorie and this tour. It was the perfect kick off to our week in San Juan.
