The results are in! After competing at the University of Puerto Rico, Carolina campus, a panel of local celebrity chefs has selected the 2014 Puerto Rico National Culinary Team members. The new all-star ensemble will feature local chefs Luis Castillo of IHE Inc, Raul Correa of San Juan Water Beach Club Hotel, Christopher Vega of IHE Inc. and Mizraim Melendez of the St. Regis Bahia Beach Hotel.
The culinary crew, which is sponsored by Rums of Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, was created in 1995 to represent Puerto Rico as a top gastronomic contender in culinary competition across the globe.
The missing team member, a bartender, will be chosen during a competition taking place Monday, February 24 at 9am at the Condado Plaza Hilton on Ashford Avenue in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Don’t miss out on your chance to participate and check out the best the island has to offer in cocktails!
The Puerto Rico National Culinary Team will represent the island in Taste of the Caribbean competition, held in June in Florida.
