At Flavors of San Juan Food Tours, we’ve been guiding hungry travelers and locals through Puerto Rico’s most flavorful streets for over a decade. As Puerto Rico’s original food tour company, we offer immersive, storytelling-driven food experiences that showcase the best bites and boldest flavors of Old San Juan—and now, we’re celebrating the exciting evolution of a new culinary hub just outside the city: Calle Cerra in Santurce.

What was once a quiet, industrial street with deep musical roots (home to legendary salsa label Fania Records), Calle Cerra has transformed into one of San Juan’s hottest culinary corridors. Located in the heart of Santurce, just minutes from Condado and Miramar, this mural-covered stretch is now home to some of the island’s most innovative restaurants, bars, and cafes—serving everything from fusion fine dining to craft cocktails and artisanal desserts.
At the intersection of art, music, and gastronomy, Calle Cerra is redefining Puerto Rican dining—one dish at a time.
Selva Cocina Salvaje
Located at 624 Calle Cerra, Selva is a standout Latin-fusion restaurant with bold flavors, jungle-inspired interiors, and creative cocktails. It’s lively, stylish, and always buzzing. Their attached patio, Botánico, offers an open-air vibe with DJs, live music, and some of the best craft drinks in the city.
PROLE Cocina & Barra
Just across the street at 619 Calle Cerra, PROLE delivers elevated comfort food with a local twist. Their menu rotates often, focusing on seasonal, farm-to-table ingredients. From smoky octopus to perfectly seared pork, everything feels intentional—and delicious.
Peko Peko
Yes, it’s open—and it’s slinging some of the best ramen in Puerto Rico. Peko Peko is a small, intimate Japanese-inspired spot known for its handmade noodles and deeply savory broths. The vibe is cozy, the dishes are rich, and there’s usually a line—because it’s that good.
Machete
At 1 Calle Cerra, Machete brings nightlife energy to the local food scene with its expertly made cocktails, pulsing playlist, and upscale street food menu. Their tacos (try the cochinita pibil) are next level, and their late-night crowd makes it a staple among creatives and foodies alike.
Peccas
Peccas is where dessert meets design. This boutique ice cream and sweets shop crafts small-batch frozen creations that push flavor boundaries—think lavender gin, champagne-strawberry, and classic favorites with unexpected twists.
El Axolote
This intimate Mexican joint serves up authentic tacos, elote, and margaritas in a cozy, art-forward space. Affordable, delicious, and full of charm, it’s a perfect stop for a casual lunch or laid-back dinner.
Mr. Kukis
If you like your sweets gooey and nostalgic, Mr. Kukis is your new obsession. These soft-baked cookies range from traditional chocolate chip to island-inspired flavors like dulce de leche and guava-stuffed creations.
La Disquera Bar
Designed with retro flair, this vinyl-inspired cocktail bar is both stylish and intimate. The drink menu leans craft-forward, and their DJs and throwback aesthetic make it a popular hangout for locals in the know.
Antillano
A large, relaxed cocktail lounge with strong Caribbean influence, Antillano is known for its creative takes on classics like piña coladas and rum punches, plus delicious small plates made for sharing.
Galería
Big bar energy with room to move. Galería is a longtime neighborhood favorite, offering strong drinks, hearty bar food, and a vibrant, diverse crowd. It’s where artists, locals, and newcomers mingle over cold beers and conversation.
Calle Cerra is more than a place to eat—it’s a living, breathing canvas of urban art and expression. The walls are splashed with murals from local and international artists, many painted during the annual Santurce Es Ley Festival. Street art, food trucks, indie music, and cultural experimentation converge here, making Calle Cerra one of Puerto Rico’s most dynamic and creative destinations.
While we don’t currently offer guided tours in Calle Cerra, at Flavors of San Juan Food Tours, we celebrate the pulse of Puerto Rico’s ever-evolving food scene—and we’ve got our eye (and fork) on every exciting bite.
When you’re ready to experience Puerto Rican cuisine through expertly curated food tours, come with the pros. Whether you’re exploring pastelillos in Old San Juan or sipping piña coladas on a hidden patio, trust Flavors of San Juan to guide you to the good stuff.
